Young white-tailed deer buck caught by deer camDeep Creek is 435 acres of open fields, pine stands and wetland located near Manning SC, approximately 90 minutes from Charleston, SC. The hunting property is prime deer, dove, turkey and dove hunting land, and is large enough to safely accommodate a party of five or more. Deep Creek has many natural features and improvements that enhance the hunting experience, including:

Wetlands

Deep Creek is approximately 30 per cent Carolina wetland or swampland. This provides an ideal habitat for migrating ducks traversing the Eastern U.S. waterfowl flyway.

Adjacent to the swamp, Deep Creek's manmade duck impoundment greatly increases waterfowl traffic and habitation. Regulated by an electric well pump, the duck impoundment is drained in the off-season, and then a local farmer sows grains like corn, wheat and millet. When duck season arrives, the impoundment is filled, essentially providing a Bed & Breakfast for the waterfowl, and a field day for the duck hunter!

Condo Deer Stands

Deep Creek features 4 deluxe deer stands. Known as "condo" stands, they are covered and made of cypress. Approximately 50 square feet in size, they comfortably house up to four deer hunters. Three of the stands have ladder access, while one has a full staircase with handrail.

Deer hunting season comes early in Manning, and South Carolina's deer season is among the longest in the U.S. Deep Creek's current owners have conscientiously managed the number, age, size and sex of whitetail deer taken each year. This results in stronger bucks with more impressive racks.

Timber Income

Deep Creek features large pine stands that provide potential timber income, which can make a nice dent in your property taxes and upkeep. Agent Jamie Hough has timber valuation experience and industry connections that can help you optimize the value of your property.
